Costa Rican law permits up to 15% of its energy needs being provided by private firms.  Every so often, ICE calls for bids for cogeneration project proposals and then, after deliberation, chooses the most attractive projects.  In order to submit a project proposal, one must first apply for cogeneration eligibility with ICE which is a process that can take the better part of 6 months.  Feel free to contact Osa Power with more information about this process or if you would like assistance applying for cogeneration eligibility.  ICE permits projects of up to 10 Megawatts per company.
